A SPECIALIST school in Bradford will close in the coming months, but the president of an education union reveals it has been no secret. Bradford District PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), in Anerley Street, has had its Academy Order revoked by the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson. This is due to the setting not being financially viable . President of the National Education Union (NEU) in Bradford, Ian Murch, outlined this means the unit will shut. He said: As an academy, the council couldn t close it itself. They have to go to the Government for the right for closure. The exact date for closure is unclear, but an anonymous member of the public contacted the Telegraph & Argus and claimed that a conference call between staff and the leaders of Bradford Council last Friday outlined the doors would shut for good on Wednesday, March 31.
