SCIAR takes part in clean up, donation drive By SCIAR - | Jul 23, 2021 SCIAR On July 14, Realtor and Affiliate Business Partner members of the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors joined to clean up parts of Span B of the Sanibel Causeway. During July, Realtors across Florida have been taking part in Florida Realtors’ Clean Up Florida’s Waters project. The statewide push encourages them and residents to join forces to pick up trash and clean up Florida’s lakes, rivers, streams, retention ponds, bays and other waterways and beaches. The event sponsor was Amanda Curran, with Superior Title Services. In the spring, the SCIAR gathered donations of linens, personal care products, children’s items and monetary donations for ACT Abuse Counseling & Treatment Inc.

It’s a 10-point plan aimed at changing the way victims, regardless of race and gender, receive benefits. It’s an issue that is often not talked about, but is picking up steam in the state legislature. “I think we’re still really waking up as a society to see and understand the toll it takes on someone after a trauma has occurred,” says Meg Dalabes, Director of Community Education & Development with ACT.
