March 16, 2021 IN A bid to provide safe and clean water to residents of Barangay San Miguel in San Simon town, the local government and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) are constructing a brand new water supply facility.
Municipal Engineer Benigno Bonus said the soon-to-rise Level III Potable Water System will replace the three decades old existing facility operated by the San Miguel Cooperative Water System (SMCWS). We are improving the existing system by installing modern and bigger machines to can help cater more concessionaires, Bonus said.
He added that the DILG, under its Local Government Support Fund, is providing P4-million fund while the local government is providing P2-million counterpart.

+ February 24, 2021 THE local government in San Simon town, Pampanga is all set for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination rollout, which is expected to kick-off by March.
Mayor Abundio Punsalan, Jr. said a group of vaccinators composed of municipal doctors, nurses and health personnel will lead the vaccination program once the vaccines arrive in the country are downloaded to the local government. Our personnel and facilities are ready. So far, we are all set for the rollout and hopefully, we can start the vaccination this coming March, Punsalan said.
He noted that the local government targets to cover at least 70 percent of the total population of the town before the year ends.

+ February 05, 2021 RESIDENTS of San Simon town, Pampanga were warned about individuals who are making alleged fake surveys using the name of the Office of the Mayor.
Based on reports of residents, the surveyors, who allegedly identify themselves as employees of the local government, conduct an interview via phone supposedly as part of the annual census activity.
The callers allegedly know the names of respondents and ask about the number of members per family and their addresses.
Mayor Abundio Punsalan, Jr. said he did not delegate anybody from the local government to conduct such surveys. The local government is not conducting any survey now and anybody who is doing such activity, particularly those who identify themselves as part of my office are fake, he said.
