(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The presidency has confirmed that burglars attacked the residence of the chief of staff to the president, Professor Ibrahim Gambari but were unable to get into the residence.
Gambari’s residence is located within the Aso Villa area, a short distance from the State House, Abuja.
Also attacked was the residence of the Administrative Officer of the State House, Abubakar Maikano.
African Examiner reports that incident happened at 3am on Monday.
Confirming the report on Monday in several tweets, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba, said there was indeed an unsuccessful attempt to burgle Gambari’s house.

The Presidency has disclosed that there was an attempt by armed robbers to burgle the residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, early Monday morning.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, revealed this in a two-part tweet on Monday night.
He tweeted, “The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there ‘was a foolish attempt’ to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”

Burglars on the early hours of Monday made an attempt to break into the official residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, around the presidential villa, Abuja.
It was gathered that the men of the underworld attempted to break into the house at about 3am on but were apparently unsuccessful.
The Chief of Staff, Prof. Gambari confirmed the incident to journalists covering the Presidential Villa made enquiries.
But the Chief of Staff, through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said that there was nothing to worry about.
