ISLAMABAD: The Petroleum Division is unhappy with inquiry commission investigating Pakistan’s petrol crisis. They have called the commission controversial .
In a response to last week s report by the inquiry commission, the petroleum division expressed its dissatisfaction over the commission s members.

The five-member Inquiry Commission, headed by FIA Additional Director-General Abubakar Khudabaksh, has recommended strict action against the Petroleum Division secretary, Oil DG, Ogra and private oil marketing companies (OMCs).
The commission’s report also asked for dissolution of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) for six months through an act of Parliament, arguing it is not aligned with ground realities.

ISLAMABAD: The five-member Inquiry Commission headed by Abubakar Khudabaksh, Additional DG FIA, to probe into the shortage of petroleum products that hit the country in June, 2020 has recommended strict action against secretary Petroleum Division, DG Oil, Ogra and private oil marketing companies (OMCs).
The commission’s report also asked for dissolution of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) for six months through act of Parliament, arguing it is not aligned with the ground realities. The Government of Pakistan constituted it on July 28, 2020 to probe into the shortage of petroleum products.
The 155-page report submitted to the federal cabinet that meets today (Tuesday) , mentions the catalogue of failures of Ogra since 2002 that includes dishing out licenses to OMCs without ensuring actual enhancement of storage facilities, failure to ensure minimum stock requirements, imposition of ritual fines on OMCs for drying out their retail outlets during

9 Petroleum Companies Hoarded Petrol in June and Made Billions: Report
The five-member Inquiry Commission headed by Additional DG FIA Abubakar Khudabaksh was formed in July this year to probe into sudden petrol shortage in the country earlier this year in June.
The findings of the commission have revealed that a lack of coordination among the departments working under the Petroleum Division was one of the primary reasons for the shortage. The report, a copy of which is available with ProPakistani, has revealed that Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) deliberately stopped supplying petroleum products to pumps despite having considerable stocks at their disposal.
