if it is the failure of the left to deliver this. Yes I agree with you, the left has been way too timid on this. To be fair a UBI would be a dramatic reform and any govt would consume a great deal of political capital getting it over the line. And until this past few post-COVD months there has never been a Labour govt in a strong enough position to do this. But the ground has shifted – it s my sense that NZ right now would be more receptive to the idea than at any time in my life.
