in all 26 states have laws that indicate they could outlaw or set extreme limits on the procedure. protests intensifying nationwide both for and against the supreme court s ruling to overturn the federal constitutional right to an abortion. many many protests were peaceful there were incidents with some protesters getting arrested. as some states move to restrict abortion rights others are taking steps to protect access and funding. also some major companies are pledging to provide support for employees and in some cases their defendants where abortions are now being outlawed. meanwhile, there are questions about the future of other court-determined rights. a consenting opinion from justice clarence thomas calls for the court to reconsider precedents on contraception and same-sex marriage. we want to get right to the supreme court in morning, cnn s josh campbell is there. josh, for everything that happened the court is not done yet. reporter: they are not done yet. you ca
one of the california planned parenthood. live from cnn center, this is cnn cnn newsroom with kim brunhuber. and we begin in ukraine where two largest cities are taking fire from russia heavy weapons. in kyiv the mayor says a number are trapped after a missile attack earlier this morning. he says at least two people have been hospitalized. ukraine s air force says russia hit the city with at least four missiles launched from strategic bombers. while in kharkiv, officials say russian artillery again pummeled residential areas leaving at least two injured, a number of apartment buildings were truck along with a medical facility. and regional official says russia may be preparing a ground attack in eastern donetsk region. he says russia is massing forces there including armored vehicles. and in germany, f 7 g7 leade are gathering. we saw president biden arrive for a meeting with chancellor scholz. and dominating the agenda of course is russia s war in ukraine. there is
cassidy hutchinson. her two hour blockbuster appearance before the january 6 committee included testimony that the former president and top aides were warned that some supporters at the elipse were armed with weapons like knives, guns, bear spray, tasers. hutchinson had a unique vantage point critical to conversations never revealed before yesterday. she said that trump grew irate that the security screenings on january 6 were apparently deterring his supporters, his armed supporters, from joining the crowd. so furious that he ordered his aides to have the metal de detectors removed. another leading reason, likely the primary reason, is because he wanted it full and he was angry that we weren t letting people through with weapons. i overheard the president say something to the effect of, you know, i don t fing care that they have weapons. they are not here to hurt me, take it away. they are not here who hurt me. and she testified about trump s determination to join his su
just it s a tense moment. we re on the outside of the main protest here. as you can see, there is a small group of people protesting who are in support of the supreme court decision. and what we re seeing is really a conversation, passionate conversations taking place. both sides arguing, and, in fact, there was a larger group out here getting in an argument a few minutes ago at one point someone swiped a megaphone from the other crowd and they were given a verbal warning from the d.c. metropolitan police who moved in some other police forces just to protect this area over here, but i want to give you a sense of the broader flavor certainly as these sorts of conversations are playing out not only here but deeper into this crowd. this is a crowd of a couple 100 strong. we do see some counter protesters, some protesters who are out here kneeling and praying over here. and certainly some other protesters talking to them, i think overall things have been respectful here. i did
