Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba has resigned, but will retain all civil rights, Head of Republican Guard Gen. Brice Oligui Nguema said on Wednesday.
Gabon is a country located in central Africa, bordering Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of Congo, though the borders are closed as a result of the military coup. The military takeover was carried out by the Gabonese servicemen, who declared the presidential election results cancelled earlier on Wednesday.
