41-year-old man dragged to court over N600,000 fraud in Osun

The Police in Osun State have arraigned a 41-year-old man, Gbenga Olaleye before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged N641,100 fraud.
The accused person, who is facing a four count charge of fraud and stealing, pleaded not guilty to the allegations preferred against him.
The prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the accused person fraudulently obtained the sum of N107,500 from one Gbenga Musa.
He disclosed to the court that the accused person promised to supply Musa 10 packs of Exotic, 10 packs of Active and 5 packs of Hollandia drinks, knowing full well that it’s false.

The Cross River Government security outfit “Operation Akpakwu” on Monday demolished four houses belonging to suspected kidnappers.
The team also demolished a brothel close to the popular Flour Mill junction in Calabar for allegedly harbouring criminals and consumers of illicit drugs.
Mr Henry Okokon, the State Security Adviser (Southern Senatorial District) to Gov. Ben Ayade, told newsmen that the demolition was one of the ways of chasing criminals out of the state.
“These houses belong to individuals who have been caught in the act of kidnapping in the state.
“The brothel was also brought down because the management of the facility was also harbouring criminals and drug addicts.
Police arraign Osun house-help who attempted to abduct boss

One Olayemi Lawrence, who allegedly attempted to abduct her employer, Eunice Fateye, on Tuesday, appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo.
The 23-year-old Lawrence had allegedly broken into the residence of Fateye and stolen some of her personal effects and money.
The police prosecutor, Abiodun Fagboyinbo, while addressing the court, said Olayemi, in December 2020 in Ilesa-Ijesha, entered the residence of Fateye and stole mobile phones valued at N150,000.
Fagboyinbo also alleged that the defendant stole an ATM card belonging to the woman and withdrew a sum of N305,000 from her account.

An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo on Wednesday remanded a-23-year-old female housemaid, Olayemi Lawrence in Ilesa correctional centre for attempting to kidnap her boss, Chief Eunice Fateye.
Charges prepared against her (Olayemi) were on five-count offences bothering on conspiracy, burglary, stealing, attempted arson and attempted kidnap of her boss.
The charge sheet brought by the Police Prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo before the court further stated that “Olayemi, in December 2020 at about 2 AM Ilasa-Ijesha in Obokun broke into the house of one Chief Mrs Eunice Abike Fateye of No. 5 Orofon Street to steal Itel P36 mobile phone and one android mobile phone valued N150,000.
