Tools For Tomorrow’s (TFT) after-school Zoom classes integrating drama, music, creative writing and visual arts have been especially vital in supporting social and emotional learning among elementary school students. In its 21st year, TFT’s free hands-on program continues to develop new passions, confidence and resilience for children of all backgrounds.
The organization hopes to raise $170,000 to support its arts literacy program for the 2021-2022 school year at its Keep Their Dreams Alive Event virtual gala and auction on Tuesday, May 11. The virtual gala is made possible by event sponsor,

The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) is pleased to announce its annual promotional t-shirt design competition. High school and college students are invited to submit entries by April 10, 2021. The t-shirt design will be used to promote PGSF scholarship opportunities and highlight how graphic communications fit into todayâs world. The winning entrant will receive a $500 check, an award certificate, and will be recognized in PGSFâs promotional materials.
Schools are encouraged to offer the design competition as a real-world working assignment. Abigail Carter of Mattoon High School won the 2020 design contest thanks to graphic arts teacher Laura Roberts who offered the design project as a school assignment. Roberts recognizes the importance for students to participate in real-world design competitions.

ROCHESTER, MN The mood at Mayo Clinic was undeniably upbeat this morning as six frontline workers received the coveted COVID-19 vaccine. There were cheers as the doctors, nurses and a respiratory therapist rolled up their sleeves and received the first of two shots.
In a Zoom news conference after the shots were administered, Dr. Casey Clements, who diagnosed the first case of COVID-19 at Mayo, was fairly gushing as he talked about where he and his colleagues have been and how there is now hope.
