GUWAHATI: The state child rights body, Assam State Commission For Protection Of Child Rights (ASCPCR), on Saturday said that the minor was “pregnant” before she was allegedly set ablaze her employers on Thursday.
According to the police, the 12-year-old Karbi girl, who was employed as a domestic help at a house in Nagaon district, was allegedly burnt to death which led to the arrest of a 70-year-old man and his 25-year-old son. The former is the head of the family.
ASCPCR chairperson Dr Sunita Changkakati told TOI that the neighbours informed the commission that the victim was “regularly physically and mentally abused by the accused before she was killed”.

A man and his son were arrested on Friday after police recovered the charred remains of a 12-year-old girl who was employed as a domestic help at the residence of the accused in Assam s Nagaon district. The minor girl was found dead inside their house in Raha area of Assam s Nangaon on Thursday.
