Pensioner Colin Middlebrough, from Bromborough, received his first vaccination jab on December 21 and was given a second booster jab appointment for Monday, January 11. But when he got to the Oval Leisure Centre in Bebington for his 1.50pm follow-up appointment, exactly three weeks after his first one, the experience was altogether different. He told the
Miriam Medical Centre has completed three rounds of vaccinations over the past two weeks. A further round of vaccinations for patients commenced on New Year s Day and will carrry on over the weekend. By close of play tomorrow, 5,000 people will have received their first dose at the medical centre. The Miriam-led service is for patients registered with Arno Primary Care Alliance and North Coast Primary Care Network. Staff have vaccinated residents and staff in all care homes under their care and also four care homes in Moreton. A message on the Miriam Facebook page said: From Monday 4th January, we will commence giving the second booster dose for those who were vaccinated three weeks ago.

Miriam Medical Centre was chosen as a designated site to deliver the first wave of the Covid-19 vaccination on behalf of 20 GP surgeries. The programme commenced on Monday (December 14) and has so far vaccinated over 600 people at the Laird Street premises, who say they will have reached the target of 975 people by close of play tomorrow.
