The Karnataka High Court on Saturday said as of today it was not necessary to transfer investigations in the alleged sex CD case involving former State minister Ramesh Jarkiholi from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Suraj Govindaraj in their order said We have perused the report submitted by Soumendu Mukherjee IPS, head of Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is investigating into three crimes, three separate reports are submitted, pointing out steps taken in investigation. After having perused the said three reports we find that as of today it is not necessary to consider the prayer for transfer of investigation.

The Karnataka High Court on Saturday directed the State Government to issue appropriate orders to all recognised laboratories to provide test results to patients who have undergone RT-PCR test at the earliest and not later than 24-hours.
A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Suraj Govindaraj said It is pointed out that considering the fact that a large number of samples are being submitted for RT-PCR test, results are not available even for a period of 48-hours. Non-availability of results for such a long time will have serious and drastic consequences. The reason is if a person tests positive his isolation and treatment will be delayed.

Karnataka High Court has said Right to lead a healthy life is an integral part of Article 21 of the Constitution of India. Right to lead a healthy life cannot be obstructed by individuals who do not bother to follow the rules regarding masks, maintaining social distance, congregating etc , the Court said.
A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Suraj Govindaraj, on Thursday clarified As far as offence under sub section 1 of section 5, (Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act) for failure of wearing mask and social distancing is attracted not only in relation to organisers/leaders of rallies congregations etc but each and every person who participates in the same and who commits violation of wearing of mask and maintaining of social distancing commits and offence. Moreover, any person who abates any offence commits an offence as provided in section 8 of the said act.

The State Government on Tuesday filed a memo before the Karnataka High Court enumerating the steps being taken to protect/conserve the Great Indian Bustards (GIBs) and other species of wild flora and fauna in the landscape identified as the habitat for GIBs.
Advocate Vikram Huilgol appearing for the state filed the memo and submitted to the court that field visits by the advisory committee are planned to be held on April 7 and 8 including the experts appointed from Dehradun and SACON (Dr Sutirth Datta, WII Dehradun and Dr H N Kumar, SACON, Coimbatore).

The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to file an affidavit stating immediate steps which it will be taking for improvement of conditions of parks in the city of Bengaluru.
As per the list submitted to the court which is available on the website of BBMP, there are 1010 parks within its jurisdiction. Under the column present condition of parks/gardens in many cases it is blank. In some cases, BBMP has itself recorded the remark average .
A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Suraj Govindaraj said We direct BBMP to make a statement regarding steps which will be taken to start immediate works in parks which are described as average in Annexure E. BBMP shall file an affidavit to that effect by April 21.
