GHAZIABAD: A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife nine years ago, the Indirapuram police said on Monday. Monoranjan alias Manoj Tripathi had shot his wife dead in September 2012, they said. He has been living in Odisha as a priest.
Before the crime, Manoj who hails from Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur, used to be a photographer in Indirapuram. SP City-2 (THA) Gyanendra Singh said in 2007 Manoj had a love marriage with Geeta and they moved to Ghaziabad from Odisha.
In 2010, Geeta started living separately owing to some differences between them. She was working as a maid. An officer said the accused suspected her of being in an illicit relationship. Next, on September 29, 2012 at 9.30 am, he shot her in public and fled the scene.
