With people being largely confined to their homes since March 2020, documenting the growth of seedlings and watering pots became a ritual to many. Many discovered that you don’t need to be an expert in the field to grow your own produce – or even have a garden for that matter. All that’s required is some basic equipment, seeds or seedlings, compost, pots and, of course, patience.

Drive to increase Covid-19 vaccination uptake in parts of Aberdeen Health officials say a major effort is under way to increase uptake of the Covid-19 vaccination in so-called cold spot areas of Aberdeen. Uptake is below or about 80% in areas including George Street, city centre east and west, Hanover North, Froghall, Powis and Sunnybank, Seaton, Old Aberdeen and Tillydrone. About 3,500 people in those areas have not been vaccinated so far. Average uptake across the rest of the city is about 90%. A statement from Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership said: The vaccination programme team is aiming to address concerns about vaccination among some individuals and groups.

There have been 15 positive test results in the Aberdeenshire town within the last seven days. Meanwhile, there have also been seven cases in neighbouring Kintore and three in the Kemnay area.

The Care Inspectorate visited Balnagask House in Torry on March 23 and set down three requirements it must meet by today. They are providing a safe and secure environment, having the appropriate number of staff and improving the availability of the management.
