Latest Covid-19 figures Hywel Dda There have been 309 new coronavirus cases reported in Hywel Dda health board’s area according to today’s (December 18) figures. Public Health Wales figures show 219 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Carmarthenshire from 977 tests, 54 in Pembrokeshire from 429 tests and 36 in Ceredigion out of 252 tests. Three additional deaths have been recorded in Hywel Dda, with the total number of people who have died with coronavirus standing at 160. There has now been a total of 6,734 cases reported in Carmarthenshire, 1,633 in Pembrokeshire and 957 in Ceredigion throughout the pandemic. There were 2,801 new cases reported across Wales with Public Health Wales recording 38 new deaths.

A further 38 deaths and more than 2,800 new positive cases have been recorded by Public Health Wales in its coronavirus update on Friday.

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with an explosion and fire at a business in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The boys, aged 13 and 14, from Aberaman and Hirwaun, are being questioned by police investigating the blast near Aberdare on Tuesday.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at Farrells Furniture on Cardiff Road, Aberaman, at about 19:00 GMT.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
