According to the application order filed by the Islamic sect, the sect wants the court to slam the order of the Mandamus on Kano Attorney General, Barrister M. A Lawan, and the State Police Commissioner, Samaila Dikko, to immediately arrest and prosecute Sheik Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara.
The Islamic sect argued that the enormity of the allegations against Sheik Kabara is beyond Kano State Government to decide his fate alone.
The Order file number K/M 244/2021 and read by the legal counsel to JTI, Barrister Abubakar Tanko, explained that Sheik Kabara might have committed a capital offence that could only be cleared by a competent court.

Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has directed a debate between Sheik Abduljabar Nasiru Kabara and all other Sheiks in the state.
This is coming after a special meeting between Ganduje and Islamic clerics from all Muslim sects in the state, on the need to allow for a debate between Kabara and other scholars.
Kabara, whose mode of Islamic teachings is considered heresy by some scholars, came under scrutiny because of his interpretation of some prophetic sayings adjudged as controversial.
His opponents accused him of questioning the authenticity of those prophetic sayings and denouncing some companions of the prophet.

Following the ban on preaching and other activities of Sheik Abduljabar Nasiru-Kabara, the Department of State Service on Thursday deployed its armed personnel in the cleric’s mosque and residence to ensure strict compliance to the order.
Recall that the Kano State government had banned Sheik Nasir-Kabara from preaching in the state for his mode of teachings considered to be inciteful.

Following Kano State Government’s prohibition of Sheik Abduljabar Nasiru Kabara from preaching, praying in his Mosque and other Islamic activities, the Department of State Security, DSS, has drafted armed to teeth personnel to ensure no breakdown of law and order.
The State government had debarred Sheikh Abduljabar Sheikh Nasir Kabara from preaching in the state for his mode of teachings considered too violent and inciting.
The State Security took the measure according to an insider, to prevent the Sheikh’s followers from coming on protest or anything that will create uncertainty.
Kano government according to the State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, took the decision to avoid creating tension in the State.
