PCAA installs digital token system for rapid Covid-19 test

At Islamabad International Airport (IIAP), the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has installed a digital token system to carry out smooth and efficient coronavirus (COVID-19) screening of passengers arriving from Category C countries.

At Islamabad Airport, a digital token system has been installed for carrying out rapid checks for inbound passengers from Cat-C countries“, said spokesman for the Aviation Division Abdul Sattar Khokhar.
Senior Joint Secretary Abdul Sattar Khokhar said in a press release that almost 1,000 passengers arrive everyday from the United Kingdom (UK), South Africa, Brazil, Ireland, Portugal and the Netherlands to Pakistan and are being sent for their rapid diagnostic test in lounge A2.

SUKKUR: As many as seven people, including three women, were killed in different road accidents in the Sukkur region.
Reports said a speeding coach hit a motorcycle at the Thar Coal Road in Badin, leaving two people dead, identified as Wali Muhammad and his son, Irfan Pathan. In another incident of similar nature, a speeding motorcycle collided with a camel-cart in Sheikh Bhurkio that left a motorcyclist, identified as Zanur Khan, dead. Reports said a car overturned due to overspeeding, in which a young boy Zeeshan Jatt was killed in Tando Muhammad Khan.

RAWALPINDI: Eighteen crew members of Pakistan International Airlines’ Boeing 777 flight held back by Malaysian authorities due to a British court case over the aircraft lease will arrive here at Islamabad on Monday (today).
To review the situation after the PIA plane was seized in Malaysia over a lease dispute and the airline’s concern over air services agreements with other countries, the aviation division has called a meeting of the working group, headed by senior joint secretary of the aviation division Abdul Sattar Khokhar on Wednesday, sources said.
