Encounter in Shopian; arms, ammunition recovered Encounter in Shopian; arms, ammunition recovered 10 miscreants arrested from Pampore Excelsior Correspondent Srinagar, Apr 3: A gun fight broke out this morning in Shopian district of South Kashmir while arms and ammunition were recovered from Budgam and 10 miscreants were arrested from Pampore for creating law and order problem during a search operation in Pulwama. A gun fight broke out between militants and security forces in Choori Ki Gali area of Mughal Road of Sadev forest in South Kashmir’s Shopian today after an operation was launched following inputs about presence of a newly infiltrated group in the area.

Grenade Throwing Case Solved, Two Arrested: Police

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday claimed to have solved a grenade-throwing case in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. A police spokesman in a statement said that on 12-12-2020 at 1805hrs unknown militants hurled a hand grenade towards the Police Post Bus Stand which missed the intended target and exploded outside the gate of the Police Post, resulting in injuries to three civilians. The spokesman in a statement said that accordingly a case FIR No. 349/2020 was registered in Police station Sopore and investigation was set into motion. “During the course of investigation 02 suspects namely Mohammad Asif Najar son of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar resident of Noor Bagh Sopore and Sahil Rashid Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Green Town Sopore were apprehended,” said the spokesman.
