Ramzan prayers at a mosque in Cuttack on Wednesday Bhubaneswar: The state government’s fresh guidelines restricting congregation at religious places, including mosques, due to surge in Covid cases left many Muslims in a bind as their holy fasting month Ramzan began from Wednesday. Leaders of the community appealed people to strictly follow the government’s fresh guidelines. “No doubt, there will be problems. But we have been strictly following the Covid-19 guidelines during our daily prayer and also for special prayer of Ramzan,” said Sk Shakilur Rehman, president of Unit-IV main Jama mosque in the city. Md Zafar Noor, Mutawalli (head) of Jatni main Jama masjid said they too sincerely follow the government’s Covid guidelines during prayer.
