May 27, 2021 Daniel Lim Public Works Department (JKR) Acting Director of Drainage and Sewerage Haji Mazlan bin Haji Abdul Salim yesterday said plans are underway to further expand paddy cultivation to nearly 500 hectares while ensuring that new facilities and infrastructure are in place to ensure a bountiful paddy harvest. He made these comments at the start of the launch of the infrastructure for the second phase of the commercial paddy plantation project in the Agricultural Development Area (KKP) Kandol in Belait District. Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar and chairmen of the committee for the 500-hectare commercial rice farm in the area participated in the ceremony at the KKP Kandol plantation premises.

In addition to enhancing knowledge and skills in delivering dakwah songs and Islamic poetry, the ceremony also invited facilitators to participate in religious programmes.
