Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has appointed Malam Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba as the new Mai Tangale.
SaharaReporters had reported how the nine kingmakers in the area selected Dr. Musa Idris Maiyamba to succeed the late Mai Tangale, His Royal Highness Abdu Buba Maisharu.

Dr Musa Idris Maiyamba had polled a total of five votes, while the other two contestants, Ahmed Magaji and Danladi polled two votes each.

The Middle Belt Forum, MBF, has expressed concerns over the current turmoil and security apprehension in Biliri, on the selection of a new Mai Tangale in Gombe state.
Middle Belt Forum National President, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, in a statement, explained that the people are exasperated over an attempt by the Gombe State Government to foist an unpopular candidate as the new monarch.

The 15th Mai Tangale, a First Class traditional ruler in Gombe state, Dr Abdu Buba Mausharu, is dead.
Reports monitored in the social media have it that the traditional ruler died in the early hours of Monday in his Palace in Billiri after a brief illness.
Dr Abdu Buba Maisharu was an administrator and traditional ruler, he was born on May 15, 1948, in Poshiya, Billiri LGA of Gombe state.
He attended, Billiri Primary School, 1962-68; Commercial Institute, 1971; Kaduna Polytechnic, 1974-78, he was Clerical asst while in Government of the then North-Eastern State, Maiduguri between 1971-74; Catering asst in Training, Yankari Games Reserve, Bauchi, 1975-76; ag. Hotel Manager Grad II, Bauchi State Wild Life and Hotel Boards.
