Cairo: Air traffic is set to resume later today at the Aden airport in south Yemen, days after it was hit by a huge explosion that the government blamed on the Iran-aligned Al Houthi militia.
Yemeni Transport Minister Abdelsalam Humeid has directed the reoperation of the airport as of Sunday, the Yemeni news agency Saba reported.
The directive came during the minister’s visit to the airport where he inspected its rehabilitation process.
“We are facing an uphill challenge that it makes necessary for us to join hands and work in team spirit to ensure the return of work to the airport after the terrorist and treacherous attack,” he said, according to the agency.
