Asmara, 06 May 2021- President Isaias Afwerki returned home in the morning hours of today, 6 May, concluding a two-day fruitful working visit to the Sudan at an invitation of Gen. Abdel Fatah al Burhan, President of the Sudan’s Sovereign Council.
During his stay in Sudan President Isaias Afwerki met and held talks with Gen. Abdel Fatah Burhan, Prime Minister Abdella Hamdock, and Foreign Minister al Sadiq al Mahdi on strengthening bilateral relations and regional issues of interest to the two countries.
In the meeting President Isaias and Gen, al Burhan conducted they reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further consolidate their bilateral ties rooted in common history and shared values and agreed to strengthen their efforts in the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation reached between the two countries in various sectors.

Asmara, 04 May 2021 – President Isaias Afwerki who is on a two-day working visit to Sudan, met and held talks with Sudanese leaders in the afternoon hours of today.
In their meeting at the Aljemhuria State House, President Isaias Afwerki and Gen. Abdel Fatah al Burhan, President of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further consolidate their bilateral ties rooted in common history and shared values
The two leaders further agreed to strengthen their efforts in the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation reached between the two countries in the political, economic, social, security, and military sectors.

Asmara 08 January 2021 – As part and parcel of close bilateral consultations at highest levels, Sudanese senior delegation led by Vice President of the Sovereign Council, General Mohammed Hamdan Duglo, has arrived in Asmara in mid-morning hours of today, 08 January.
In a meeting held at the State House, President Isaias and the Sudanese Vice President General Mohammed Hamdan Duglo, exchanged views on current developments in the Horn. The two sides agreed to further deepen the strategic and brotherly ties between the two countries in developmental, diplomatic and security sectors.
Speaking to reporters, Acting Foreign Minister of Sudan Mr. Omar Gamaraldin said that the objective of the visit was to bolster the growing bilateral ties between the two countries and joint efforts for regional cooperation. He also said that the two sides agreed to hold regular exchange of visits and consultations.
