WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the controversial elections bill, Senate Bill 90, into law Thursday morning during an event in West Palm Beach.
“Florida took action this legislative session to increase transparency and strengthen the security of our elections,” the governor said. “Floridians can rest assured that our state will remain a leader in ballot integrity. Elections should be free and fair, and these changes will ensure this continues to be the case in the Sunshine State. I’d like to thank our legislative leaders on this issue – Senate President Wilton Simpson, House Speaker Chris Sprowls, Senator Dennis Baxley, and Representative Blaise Ingoglia.”

DORAL, Fla. – Despite no elections issues in 2020, Florida’s newly crafted bill is among other changes Republican lawmakers handed up to their voters.
“I think these reforms make sure we’re ahead of the curve,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday. He is expected to sign the voting bill into law.
Florida Democrats fought the elections bill from the day it was filed, and in the end, the most controversial ideas did not make it into its 84 pages.

Florida election supervisors speak out against bill that could make voting harder
LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Florida Republicans passed a series of sweeping voter restrictions Thursday targeting mailed ballots, drop boxes and other popular election methods.
The bill now heads to Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has said publicly that he will sign it.
The legislation would only make ballot drop boxes available when early voting sites are open. Those drop boxes would have to be supervised by election officials.
Republicans say the legislation is needed to guard against fraud, after former President Donald Trump made unfounded claims that the presidential election was stolen from him.
