Entering the fourth inning of Wednesday’s home game against Montabella, the Carson City-Crystal softball team was staying steady, holding a three-run lead. Up 5-2, the Eagles were comfortable as Haeven Clark was pitching a good game in the circle. The Mustangs saw singles from Addyson Strohl and Ashlynn Davis, with a groundout by Abby Munro sandwiched in between.
On Tuesday, Montabella Athletic Director Derek Brown received notice from Lesa Lippert that she would be resigning from her position as varsity softball head coach, citing health reasons. Lippert was in the midst of her second season as head coach. Brown wasted no time in attempting to find a replacement head coach for the season and one of his first phone calls was to the person who finished runner-up in the interview process for the softball coaching opening last year.
