Madison (Maddie) Powell, a 10-year Indiana 4-H alumna from Tipton, Indiana, is a newly elected member of the National 4-H Council’s Young Alumni Advisory Committee (YAAC). She is one of 11 young 4-H alumni selected to ensure youth voices are heard and incorporated in decisions made by the National 4-H Council and its board of trustees.
Indiana communities are facing complex land-use planning decisions, specifically in regard to renewable energy. To assist communities, Purdue Extension, through support from Hoosiers for Renewables and Indiana Farm Bureau, released a comprehensive study on land-use regulations for wind and solar renewable energy along with county snapshots.
Purdue University on May 9-11 will host the second annual Microbiome Symposium. The symposium will investigate the application of data science in the study of microbiomes and how experimental data and computational data can be leveraged to learn more about microbiome systems.
