West Central softball coach Kandice Kunkel took advantage of Tuesday’s rainy weather by dusting off her racket and hitting some tennis balls.
Not over a net. At her players, during practice in the gym.
Trying to field tennis balls forced West Central’s players to get in front of the ball and use two hands two very necessary skills when playing on an artificial surface, as the Cougars did on Wednesday against Triopia. West Central made only two errors, and banged out 12 hits, in an 11-3 win over the Trojans at Future Champions Sports Complex in Jacksonville.
