View Comments A federal food distribution program aimed at helping Vermont farmers and people during the coronavirus pandemic is set to end by the end of the month. The Farmers to Families Food Box Program will end as of May 31, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which launched the program last year  as a temporary, emergency relief effort to help alleviate the unprecedented hunger afflicting the country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and millions of people losing their jobs. The program raised objections from Vermont s congressional delegation after the USDA stopped including produce and meat from local farmers and was no longer being distributed by a local company.
