The DA in Alfred Duma welcomes reports that Councillor Abbas Warasally was taken in yesterday for questioning by the police. The reasons for this police questioning are as yet unknown, but there are strong allegations that it is in connection to the sex for jobs scandal. The said scandal broke in late February 2023 when a sound recording of a liaison, apparently between the councillor and a female employee of the Alfred Duma Municipality, was circulated on social media. During this sound recording, the voice is allegedly that of this councillor can be heard reassuring the female employee that her employment with the municipality is safe.
