The Fika Emirate Council in Potiskum, Yobe State, announced the death in a statement.
It said Adamu “the firstborn of His Royal Highness” died on Saturday after a brief illness.
Idrissa is Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan in a statement, commiserated with the monarch and the people.
Lawan urged him to take solace in Allah who gives and takes away as he pleases.
“May Allah forgive the deceased his sins, accept his soul into Aljannat Firdaus and comfort the loved ones that he left behind,”, he said.
Ibrahim Bomai, Senator representing Yobe South, said Adamu’s death was a big loss to the state.

He passed away on late Monday after a brief illness.
Justice Ighodalo was the number three in the hierarchy of 31 judges in the state.
NAN reports that his demise stalled all cases in the courts, as other judges, magistrates and presidents adjourned.
Edo NBA Publicity Secretary, Ogaga Emoghwanre, said the association was in a mourning mood.
“He was a renowned judge with an unflinching determination to always impact knowledge on one and all.
‘’We will greatly miss him. He was a jurist of no mean repute,” his statement read.
Edo Chief Judge, Justice Esther Edigin, held a meeting with the judges and later paid a condolence visit to Ighodalo’s family at Boundary Road in GRA, Benin.

In attendance were Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, elders and prominent figures from the two states.
Former governors of Borno State, Ashiek Jarma and Senator Kashim Shettima, Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Al-Amin Elkanemi and Emir of Fika, Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa were present.
It was gathered that the meeting deliberated ways to sustain recent gains made by the military in the fight against Boko Haram in the Northeast.
It also discussed resettlement of internally displaced persons to communities and villages now safe.
The delegation also raised the rehabilitation and reconstruction of major federal roads in Borno and Yobe.
