Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has denied bribing top government officials in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to be conferred with “Distinguished Award in Infrastructure Delivery”. A source at the Rivers State Government House who spoke to SaharaReporters on Friday had said millions of Naira were paid to some officials of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, to facilitate the award.
Since 2015, Rivers State has been steered by a leader whose conviction is to make living better for the people, transform the state into an investment destination and make it contribute its subnational quota to the unity of Nigeria.
As the nation gets drawn into the frenzy of politicking ahead of the 2023 general elections, a report has established that about 78 per cent of Nigerians were unhappy and in a state of despondency due to poor living conditions and general state of affairs in the country.
