In Miami, three current and former US Virgin Islands police officers were arrested last Tuesday after one of them landed in a charter plane loaded with 700 pounds of cocaine. Officer Shakim Mike was aboard the plane and faces drug trafficking conspiracy charges. Officers Teshawn Adams Jakelah Adolphine have also been detained and charged with one count each of attempting to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

BATON ROUGE, La. â The Louisiana Department of Corrections announced Friday that an internal investigation has resulted in the arrest of an employee of the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
According to a release from DOC, a Louisiana State Penitentiary Corrections Officer intercepted an attempt to smuggle contraband by a corrections cadet at the prison Friday.
West Feliciana Parish Sheriff s Deputies then booked Aaronecia Smith
, 22, of 38 East Ave, Highway 24 West, Woodville, Mississippi on numerous drug charges.
The release states that the corrections officer noticed the cadet s suspicious demeanor as she drove a state vehicle into the Main Prison sally port.
A cadet at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle contraband into the facility, state officials said.
