Although the investigation wrapped-up Thursday, officials from the ministry of highways say it will be weeks until they know why the Willow River bridge collapsed last weekend. Highways spokesperson Ron Wiebe says Sargent and Vaughn a Victoria-based, private engineering firm hired to assess the collapse of the bridge has finished its investigation, but won’t have a final report for several weeks. The Willow River bridge 30 kilometres northeast of the city collapsed March 9, taking a tractor trailer towing a flatbed loaded with a log processor with it. The ministry maintains the bridge was certified as structurally sound during its last inspection in December.
