Flagler County Sheriff s Office deputies on April 2 protected a woman from an armed man who d threatened to kill her.
The Flagler County Communication Center received a 911 call from the victim reporting that she had received multiple threatening text messages from her estranged boyfriend, Aaron Thayer, 39.
FCSO deputies arrived at the victim’s residence, where the victim showed multiple text messages that had been sent to her by Thayer.

Apr 4, 2021 4:57 PM Bunnell, FL - A 39-year-old man is facing a multitude of charges after deputies say he threatened to kill his estranged girlfriend, the same woman he chased with a firearm as deputies came to arrest him. The Flagler County Sheriff s Office (FCSO) says deputies first arrived at the victim s home on Friday (April 2nd) after she received multiple threatening texts from her boyfriend, Aaron Thayer. Photos released by investigators show Thayer saying things such as I m coming down and I m going to fix this for ever (sic), and Imma (sic) kill you. When asked about his current whereabouts, the victim said Thayer was in Connecticut for work, but she believed he was on his way back to Florida to act on his threats. She added that Thayer installed security cameras around the property to keep tabs on her while he was gone. The victim then showed deputies one of the blind spots in the cameras and asked to speak to them there so Thayer could not see her tryin

The few times that Aaron Thayer has been in the news locally go back to May 2015, when his 58-year-old father George Contos of Apricot Avenue in Daytona North disappeared and Thayer sought the Flagler County Sheriff’s help to find him. Contos’s 1997 car was subsequently found empty in a Palm Coast strip mall. Months later a message from Thayer was read at the unveiling of a billboard on State Road A1A offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Contos’s discovery, or recovery.
