Jonesville man jailed for fleeing police, possessing stolen vehicle
Hillsdale Daily News
HILLSDALE – A Jonesville man who pleaded guilty to receiving and concealing a stolen pickup truck and third-degree fleeing and eluding a police officer in connection with a police pursuit in October 2020 in Jonesville, was sentenced to 12 months jail on each count and three years probation.
The Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office agreed in a plea bargain to dismiss one count of resisting arrest and to not pursue 49-year-old Aaron Scott Bigelow as a habitual offender.
Bigelow will also pay $2,077.82 in restitution in the case.
During his earlier plea hearing, Bigelow said that on Oct. 28, 2020, he had borrowed a pickup truck from a friend who was borrowing it from a Jackson County man. Bigelow further divulged that he understood at the time that his friend had kept the truck longer than the agreed upon time frame and that it had probably been reported stolen.
