In the suit, the family alleges that Mollett allowed Perez to leave the school while under the influence of marijuana, and while having suicidal thoughts, without notifying them.
"They knew that she had a history of suicidal ideation," said Brooke Mathis, an attorney from Koussan Law. "That she was under the intoxication of marijuana on the date of her death, and they still let her leave the school premises - alone."
Maisoon Renick s 14-year-old daughter Selena Perez died by suicide in May after school authorities sent her home alone under the influence of drugs. She is now suing for damages totaling $25 million.
