Seattle earned the fourth spot on a new list of cities where renters had the highest average credit scores, according to a new study.
The study, from RentCafe, found renters in Seattle had an average credit score of 706, far above the national average. Only renters in San Francisco, Boston and New York had higher average credit scores than people in Seattle, the study found. Good credit is becoming increasingly crucial for renting an apartment, the report said. In fact, the average credit score needed to rent an apartment has been going up one point each year for the past three years.
