HAMMOND, La. – St. John’s batted around in the fourth inning, scoring nine runs on its way to defeating the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team, 12-7, in a rare Monday night game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Saturday night's game for the Kansas City Command against the Arizona Rattlers did not have the outcome they had hoped, as they fell 63-49. With a small crowd of 4,166 fans, the Command dropped to 1-4 loss without really understanding why.

Game on! What excitement filled the air as the Kansas City Command took the field for the first time in 2011 with a new name, players, and coach. Players were excited, fans were logging NiftyTV to view the game and we were ready to see our team play. It was a feeling of hope and anticipation followed by nervousness of the upcoming game and the win we hoped would follow.
The Dallas Vigilantes deferred to the second half and the game began. Plays were made and the Command showed they were a young team. More practice over a longer period of time or a preseason game could have made a difference. We cheered for our team but watched several penalties occur and almost-interceptions. Still there was a fight and love for the game that many teams do not show at the beginning of the season.
