Members of two Manchester families travelled to Merseyside to hunt down a murdered dad-of-one, a court heard.
Warren Glover was found unconscious in French Street, St Helens, on the evening of Saturday, June 13 last year.
Prosecutors say he was the victim of a revenge attack, after he sent vile texts to his ex-partner Melissa Stubbs.
They allege he was hit with a weapon by her brother Aaron Stubbs before he died in hospital three weeks later on July 7.
