Alamo residents and customers of the Agua Special Utility District are no longer advised to boil water before consumption, officials from both entities announced Tuesday.
The city of Alamo announced they rescinded a boil water notice that was implemented in the aftermath of freezing temperatures that had caused low water pressure at various public water systems throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
When water pressure at public water systems falls below a certain level, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires they issue a boil water notice to their customers, informing them of the need to boil water before it is safe for drinking or other human consumption purposes.
