AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava surrendered before police in Narmada district on Thursday. He was missing for the last 40 days after being booked for allegedly threatening forest department personnel and firing one round in the air. Vasava reached Dediapada police station with hundreds of his supporters after leading a procession from his party office in the morning. Following his surrender, he was formally arrested by the police. Three other accused also surrendered, said DSP, Ghanshyam Sarvaiya.
The accused were sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment in a 2021 case where they had allegedly threatened and assaulted a man over contesting a panchayat election.
