Spring festival held in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: The district administration and the cantonment authorities arranged a spring festival at Jinnah Bagh here on Friday.
Station Commander of Nowshera Brigadier Amir Rasheed and Additional Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Khan inaugurated the festival. Schoolchildren presented Na’ats and national songs while traditional dances were also performed to herald the arrival of the spring. Physical training show, Bait Bazi (poetry contest), gymnastics and declamation contests were also held at the festival.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that Pakistan was rich in natural resources, therefore there was a dire need to create awareness among the people about the challenges of the climate change. They said that efforts should be made to preserve the environment and water resources for the next generations.

DG RDA visits development projects

Rawalpindi : The Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Captain (r) Abdul Sattar Isani has visited various development projects,says a press release.
He checked dualisation of Dr Qadeer Khan Road from Islamabad Highway to Falcon Complex, construction/widening and improvement of Dry Port Road from Rahimabad flyover at Airport Road to Welfare Complex via Chaklala Railway Station, Shell Depot, and building three pedestrian bridges on Airport Road.
He appreciated construction work on Dr Qadeer Khan Road as 2.25 km road work has been completed. He directed that construction work on Dr Qadeer Khan road, Dry Port Road and three pedestrian bridges on Airport road should be completed as soon as possible, so that the sufferings of people could be lessened.

NOWSHERA: Around 2,52,000 children would be vaccinated during the ongoing five-day anti-polio immunization drive in the district.
Briefing Station Commander Brigadier Amir Rasheed and Lieutenant Colonel Rashteen Khattak, Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgan said that 1,241 teams had been constituted to vaccinate the children under five-year age against the crippling disease in the district.
Similarly, the official said that children were also being immunized against polio in hospitals and maternity centres to prevent them from the permanent disability.
Later, the DC along with the station commander visited the Qazi Medical Complex in Nowshera and inspected arrangements and facilities for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
