Police remand of suspects extended in journalist attack case July 9, 2021 A judicial magistrate on Thursday remanded three suspects in police custody for two more days in a case pertaining to an assault on a journalist, Aamir Latif. The investigation officer (IO) of the case produced Muhammad Aslam, Azhar and Munib before the South judicial magistrate on the expiry of their physical remand. The IO requested the court to extend the remand of the suspects in police custody for interrogation so that the absconding suspects could be arrested. According to the prosecution, the suspects had attacked Latif with iron rods on the night of June 6 in the parking lot of his office on MA Jinnah Road. The case was registered at the Preedy police station on the complaint of the journalist.
