Several thousand people living near Schiphol Airport can apply to receive compensation for the nuisance they experienced when an inspectorate failed to intervene after air traffic caused too much noise at their home, said the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management on Thursday. It concerns residents of the municipalities of Uithoorn, Haarlemmermeer, Aalsmeer and Amstelveen who lived from November 2017 to October 2019 in the vicinity of an enforcement point where the noise standard was exceeded.
