Kalyani, March 6 : A daring performance by the Indian Arrows, led by Ahan Prakash, the youngest captain ever in the I-League, saw the Venkatesh Shanmugam-coached side inflict a 3-0 defeat on NEROCA on Saturday.
Harsh Patre netted a goal in each half while Vanlalruatfela struck one in the second half to complete the victory for the Arrows at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium.
To add to that, some great handy work by skipper Ahan between the sticks aided Arrows bag their second win of the I-League season.
Churchill Brothers 0-0 Real Kashmir
In the second match of the day in the newly refurbished Kishore Bharati Stadium in Kolkata, Churchill Brothers and Real Kashmir played out a goalless draw.
It was an end to end game which saw both teams playing attacking football right from the off. The top of the table clash had a lot of fireworks but unfortunately, neither team could break the deadlock during the course of the game.
This was Churchill Brothers third consecutive draw in the I-League this season and by the help of the one point they go from the tie, they remained at the summit with 13 points from seven matches.
The Kashmiri club was rattled and it took time for them to regroup. The Manipuri club dominated proceedings in the first half but failed to extend their lead.
In the second half, David Robertson s side adopted an aggressive approach in search of an equaliser while TRAU were happy to sit back and hit the opposition with counter-attacks.
Real Kashmir were rewarded for their efforts in the 70th minute when Mason Robertson restored parity from Sena Ralte s free-kick.
Bernardez s hat-trick secures win for Churchill
In the second match of the day, Churchill Brothers routed Indian Arrows 5-2 to begin their season on a high at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium, West Bengal.
