The protestors at the site were seen holding placards of 'Save Aarey' and were heard raising slogans against the Shinde government that overturned the decision of the Thackeray government.
Aaditya Thackeray, Shiv Lena leader and former Maharashtra minister, today led a protest against the state government's move to shift the proposed Metro-3 car shed to Mumbai's Aarey Forest.
Former minister Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday established a clear stand on the controversial Metro car shed project in Mumbai, just like his father, Uddhav Thackeray, had done a day earlier.
The Metro-3 car shed was first proposed at Aarey by then chief minister Prithviraj Chavan in 2014. It was challenged by local NGO Vanshakti in the Bombay High Court, with a plea to prevent the cutting of trees in the area, PTI reported.
