he can t ride his bicycle and not be president. he can t take a if he has to have surgery for a minute, they have to bring somebody in. he s president 100% of every day. going back to where you live and where you practice in georgia, i m also reminded of some of the things we learned during the january 6th hearings and since and other court cases in georgia about what went on in and around the then-president s circle. i mean, the intimidation of those two poll workers, the lies about the things that they were saying that they were stealing votes. never mind this slate of fake electors, which is the subject of several of these counts and questions about whether that move and the work that these characters did, presumably on behalf of the then-president, to
said that he has never discussed overseas business dealings with his son. but the white house now says that the president has never been in business with his son. so, why the updated language, which statement is true, or is this semantics and both true? as i stated on monday when i was asked the question multiple times nothing has changed, nothing has changed. on this nothing has changed on this. and so you could ask me a million different ways on this question, nothing has changed. the reason i ask, the white house and the president s circle, you know, that language does seem to be somewhat different. i didn t know if there was distinction there. i wanted to ask about elizabeth naftoli, made with more than a dozen visits to the white house and met with senior advisers. can you tell us why she was
president s circle, so much participation from people close, and in the white house, who sat for hours of depositions that these other figures, while it would have been nice of course, to have their thoughts, were not really material to the investigation at the end of the day. these moments that are coming to light in the transcripts where we hear trump admitting he lost the election, does that give the conspiracy to defraud the u.s. referral more weight? absolutely. in the wake of an unsuccessful conspiracy or contempt charge you need to frame the defendant s frame of mind and i think what the committee is doing here is they are clearly establishing their frame of mine, the frame of mind of the former president, and in establishing what it is that he knew, putting out the fact that he knew it, putting out the fact that he was having conversations with other individuals, where he acknowledged it, and so i think that s a big part of the actual mens rea which is necessary to establis
conversations with us. there needs to be an ongoing damage assessment which is a counter intelligence review, which has to go hand in hand with the investigation to see who in the president s circle, former president, if not the president himself, has been talking about this information. you saw judge dearie quite clearly pointing out that even he doesn t think in clear instances he could see all the documents because there are different colors of classification. it s not just top secret and secret, there s also the very sensitive compartments to go into some of those privileged, unique and highly protected information. and this is a special master? this is a special master. so if he s saying i m obligated to work with justice or whomever before i take a look at it, what does that say for the former president and his team of lawyers we really really don t know who they re talking to? so if you re his lawyer, i was gonna ask harry, how are you advising him right now? what are you
