A U.S. donor to Canada’s WE Charity said he has asked the Internal Revenue Service to open a fraud investigation into the organization after testifying that it took down a plaque on a Kenya school built to honor his dead son and replaced it with that of another donor.

A WE Charity donor told a Canadian parliamentary committee that the organization replaced his plaque with that of another donor on a Kenyan school meant to honour his dead son, adding new allegations to a probe that has drawn in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family.
âIt feels to me like returning to my sonâs grave and finding it broken, open, defiled, and empty,â Reed Cowan told the committee. âI feel like my son was the victim of fraud.â
