Australiaâs peak restaurant body has accused the Andrews government of moving too slowly to provide financial relief after Victoriaâs snap lockdown and says without immediate grants of at least $5000 some businesses will close for good.
With the end of the month fast approaching, Restaurant & Catering chief executive Wes Lambert warned rent was due for businesses which had already just lost the rare weekend âtriple whammyâ of Valentineâs Day, Chinese New Year and the Australian Open tennis while Victoria was locked down for five days.
